I have been working as a performer, specialising in comedy, for over 10 years. In that time I have delivered 5 solo Edinburgh shows, each receiving 4 star reviews and positive audience engagement.
On the live circuit, I have developed myself a reputation as a kind and lively MC - regularly used as resident host and as a confident opener/middle, whilst also supporting Luisa Omielan on tour. I am an experienced theatre actor, working on circus projects, modern shakespeare adaptaions and range of long from improv shows.
My new show is currently touring arts festivals and has already been granted an Edinburgh Fringe 'Keep it Fringe' grant and a Brighton Fringe nomination
Stand Up
I have been working on the live stand up circuit since 2010. I have an excellent reputation as a lively, friendly and reliable act.
Currently MCing regularly for clubs such as Manfords, Komedia, OTK and Avalon. Good recommendations from regional promoters like Red Redmond, Comedy Cow, Blackpool Comedy Station. Have hosted at festivals, regularly returning for the same promoters based on his track record and reliability.
In the future, I want to continue to progress on the circuit, working for bigger clubs and maintaining club comedy as a key feature in my diary alongside developing into TV roles.
I would love to do tour support for a big female comic.
Acting
I have predominantly worked in theatre, a mixture of family shows, TIE and classical adaptations; most notably hero-leads in panto and promenade performances of Shakespeare. I am very used to (and love!) regional touring and developing.
In the future, I want to expand into small TV comedy roles, such as sitcoms and sketch shows, as such I have produced and performed for the Sitcom Trials (as part of Gilded Balloon SYTYWF) in 2015 and 2016..
I recently filmed a sketch with Pulped based on my own original idea and staring myself in the lead that won a Lovie award.
Improv
Book
My debut book was released in May 2024.
Homo History is a collection of fun, witty, but often heartfelt essays on the issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community today; the events that shaped LGBTQ+ culture and rights; and the heroes, icons and divas who have inspired, entertained, and stood with (and fought for) the queer community.
It is currently 5 star rated across Amazon and Goodreads whilst instantly going Top 10 on 2 Amazon book charts.
Podcasts
I have hosted, writen and produced 3 successful podcast series.
Pod of the Pops, the worlds top rated Spice Girls podcast took a trivial issue and used it as a platform to discuss eating disorders, capitalism and race changes across the 20th century. I specialise in making serious things entertaining and entertaining things serious. Pod of the pops went top 20 in 5 countries upon its release in 2019. It is still in the charts today.
My follow up, Matter of Pride, tackled socio-political queer issues. It was a Guardian top pick and went Apple Top 10 (between Michelle Obama and Nicole Byer. A very flattering sandwich!)
Aerial Circus
I specialise in aerial silks, though also perform in trapeze, doubles and ground based lifts. I have been resident with RoguePlay Theatre and CircusMash touring as a main cast member, working on outdoor engagement performances and teaching classes to range of learners.
In 2017, I created and performed the first Stand Up Comedy - aerial silk fusion show which completed a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Alongside this, I do tailored corporate pieces for large or small audiences from weddings to outdoor music festivals.
I spent 8 years as part of a improv troupe, Foghorn Unscripted, developing long form comic improv formats and performing them from our sell-out residency at Old Joint Stock Theatre, EdFringe and Birmingham MAC. The shows focussed on developing clear plots and drawing humour from distinct characters.
With them I wrote and filmed a sketch show pilot, DiscoBlonde.
